The ad industry lacks diversity. To push the Minnesota marketing and communications industry to better reflect society, The Battle was born: an epic agency battle-of-the-bands competition held at First Avenue. Proceeds from the event went to a University of Minnesota scholarship for students of diverse backgrounds gearing up for a career in the field.
As the art director and lead designer for the event, I brought to life a logo and comprehensive brand identity, website, social media content, event poster, band and sponsor recruitment collateral, and more to energize the Minneapolis ad community about our cause and execute a fist-pumping, dance-your-socks-off night at First Avenue.
More than $35,000 in scholarship money was raised in one night.
